Dirty Rotten Scoundrels For Casey

The Santorum campaign is up with a new ad that seeks to link Bob Casey to...um, ah, a bunch of bad guys.
My colleague Larry Eichel reports that it is a statewide buy, so I guess this signals the beginning of the negative ad portion of the U.S. Senate race. Casey began airing his own negative earlier in the week, an ad called "Debbie." Here is a link to the latest Santorum ad.
See below for a link to the "Debbie" ad.
As Eichel points out, the ad mentions no names. Instead, it has actors portray shady pols and businessmen who later got into trouble with the law.
He also points out that none of the shady guys has any role in Casey's U.S. Senate campaign and their support for previous campaigns came at a time when they were neither under investigation nor being prosecuted.
The interesting thing about the ad -- and this is obviously intentional -- is it's lack of specificity. It's purely atmospheric. To put it another way, it is pure innuendo.

No surprise here. Santorum is desperate because like most of his ilk who can't sing the praises of private industry enough, when it comes right down to it they don't want to trade their government job for one in the private sector.

What a joke. Anybody who knows the Caseys knows that they are ALL so clean they squeek. Unlike "Buy My Vote" Santorum. I can't wait til he's gone--he's such a creepy piece of trash.

Technically, Eichel is correct. But an honest person can't argue with the fact these scum were big bucks contributors and/or advisers to Casey at one time.

It sure speaks to the sleazy trash clinging to the two dominant political parties. And I think Eichel should have spent some time on that in his story.

St. Torum's ad is a classic Karl Rove "Swift Boat" whack job. It smacks of desperation and will blow up in Rick's face. He is the candidate who is ethically challenged in this race.... can't wait to see the Casey campaign punch back.

Wasn't Santorum one of the biggest benefactors from Jack Abramoff? I think Rick needs to learn a little lesson on stones and glass houses.
